Ahrar Naqvi, Founder, CEO

Ebryx is founded and led by Ahrar Naqvi. Ahrar has more than 18 years of experience in senior management, technical leadership, architecture, design and development of telecom, networking, systems management, storage and security applications.

Ahrar co-founded Palmchip Pakistan, the Pakistani arm of Palmchip US, a US-based design services and solutions company. At Palmchip, Ahrar served as GM, EVP Engineering and as a member of the Board of Directors. He developed the organization to more than a hundred people. He was involved in network security software development for network malware detection and counteraction; development of VoIP applications; Web 2.0 applications in .NET, PHP and Ruby on Rails; embedded systems projects; peer-to-peer network protocol analysis and storage projects. Ahrar was a key contributor to a telecom GIS product and mobile applications on various mobile platforms. Ahrar oversaw the System on Chip hardware design group, which developed several IP cores related to security, storage and microcontrollers.

Prior to Palmchip, Ahrar worked as Chief Architect and Director of Engineering at Veraz Networks, a VoIP softswitch company. Ahrar developed a network and element management system to manage networks of Veraz network elements and third party elements such as those from Cisco, ECI and Ulticom. He was also responsible for the billing component of the softswitch.

Earlier, Ahrar worked as a Senior Development Manager at Oracle, Corporation. He was the lead architect and key visionary of a workflow based service-provisioning product called Service Fulfillment Manager, now a part of Oracle eBusiness Suite.

Ahrar started his career with USWest, now part of Qwest Communications. Ahrar worked as a Team Lead responsible for development and deployment of a service provisioning and activation OSS for all USWest services. Ahrar has an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Amar Maqsood, EVP of Business Development

Amar brings to Ebryx a wealth of business experience in operational roles at top-tier start-up companies and Fortune-100 leading high tech firms. Amar has a 17-year proven track record of successfully managing business development, sales, customer service, technical marketing and channel programs for leading information technology companies. Amar co-founded Palmchip Pakistan, the Pakistani arm of Palmchip US, a US-based design services and solutions company. At Palmchip, Amar served as EVP, Worldwide Sales and Business Development, and as a member of the Board of Directors. He developed the organization to more than a hundred fifty people. He was involved in strategy, business development, sales and marketing. At Palmchip, Amar's major contributions were setting up new business lines, new business generation and successfully executing customer projects and off-shore based teams.

Prior to Palmchip, Amar served in executive management, sales and engineering roles at AT&T, Sprint, Hitachi and Seagate where he successfully managed over hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. Amar possesses exceptional skills in customer management, building long term relationships, successful project executions, setting up new teams, starting new business practice areas, revenue and customer retention and generating new sales revenue. Amar holds BS in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management and Business Administration. Amar has also acquired many professional and academic certifications in project management, telecommunications, business management and sales.

Jim Norris, VP Sales, North America

Jim brings a wealth of experience to his role as VP of North American Sales. He is responsible for ensuring customers’ requirements are realized as successful projects and that all aspects of development go smoothly. He has a track record in creating long term strategic accounts, facilitating smooth communications, and proactively managing accounts to make sure all involved are completely satisfied with the outcome.

Jim has over 20 years of experience in Executive Management, Executive Sales Management, Sales, Business Development, Product Marketing, Materials Management, Quality Engineering Management, Engineering Management, Process Development, and Process Engineering. He has held various positions at IBM, Silicon Graphics, Solid Data Systems, Vanguard Software Solutions, and Gearhead Engineering.

Jim possesses a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chico State University and a Masters in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University.
